Studies have proven over and over again that the likelihood of saving someone’s life during a sudden cardiac event when having a defibrillator device near by goes up exponentially.
The cost of a single life saving defibrillator is $1500. Through our foundation and your donations our goal is to ensure that no school is left without one of these devices at each campus.
The Ryan Powell Memorial Foundation is a non-profit organization being established in memory of Ryan Powell, an athlete at Southwest High School in Fort Worth, Texas who excelled in sports. Ryan played both baseball and football for his high school and as the result of a heart attack, passed away in December of 2009 at the age of eighteen.
The purpose of this foundation is to raise funding for the purchase of automatic defibrillators to place in all our local schools. Our goal is to purchase two units of each middle and high school. One unit would be stored in the nurse’s office and the other in the school field house. The cost of each unit is $1250.00. The mission is, through education and deployment of life-saving programs, we can help prevent sudden cardiac death.
